We collected 5 quick décor tips to help you get ready for the holidays!
1. Picking your Christmas tree
It is important to consider a few things when deciding on a Christmas tree. Picking a real tree can be a fun family event, while buying an artificial one will save you money on the long run. Always measure the area you will be placing your Christmas tree to determine the tree size, including the height of the ceilings. Keep in mind that you will need a few inches in between the top of your tree and the ceiling to fit a star or another statement object of your preference. Vaulted ceilings will already give you those extra inches so you are free to invest in a taller tree.
2. Decorating your Christmas tree
When it comes to decorating your Christmas tree, the number of ornament options can be quite overwhelming! It is easier if you start by deciding on a theme, such as a color palette. Do you prefer the traditional red and green or do you lean more towards to neutral whites and beiges with a pop of gold/silver? You can intercalate the ornament balls with the most sentimental ones, and don’t forget to save room for the lights, a few garlands, and a tree skirt.
3. Christmas Stockings
A traditional Christmas must have hanging stockings by the fireplace! If you don’t have a fireplace, don’t worry! You can hang your stockings on a shelf or a staircase. Stockings are typically made of fabric and can be personalized with name engravings, or you can buy separate name tags and hang them by each stocking. You will need heavy hooks for when your stockings are full of goodies!
4. Christmas Wreath
Wreaths are also very traditional, typically hung by the front door but people have become very creative over the years and hang them on their windows as well. It is a fun way to complement your Christmas decor and will surely catch your neighbors eyes!
5. More Decorations
There is no such thing as too many Christmas decorations! People like to add outdoor lights to their yards, centerpieces on their tables, and even build a miniature Christmas village in the living room. The sky’s the limit!
